Day 01: Arrive Istanbul

Hoşgeldiniz! Welcome to stunning Istanbul*. Set on the Bosporus peninsula, with part of the city in Europe and part in Asia, Istanbul is perhaps one of the most important cities in history. Born as Byzantium and later renamed Constantinople, Istanbul served as an imperial capital of the Byzantine and Ottoman empires for almost 16 centuries. We are met at Istanbul Ataturk Airport upon arrival and brought to our hotel.  Check in time starts from 1500 hrs.  Remainder of the day is free to relax or take in some of the city’s incredible architecture, which reflects its grandiose history.

Day 02: Istanbul

A full day exploration of Istanbul* is ahead of us, discovering the many monuments that earn this city World Heritage Site status. We start by taking in the magnificent Hagia Sophia, a massive 1,500-year-old basilica originally built by Constantine the Great. Across the majestic square, we discover the dominating Sultan Ahmed Mosque, popularly known as the Blue Mosque due to its blue-tiled interior. Next, see the Byzantine Hippodrome, where chariot races and athletic events took place in antiquity. We then experience legendary Topkapi Palace, which served as the main residence and administrative headquarters of the Ottoman sultans. End the day with a visit to the vibrant Grand Bazaar. (B)

Day 03: Istanbul

Our day starts with a visit to the colourful Spice Bazaar, the centre of the city’s spice trade. We then embark on a Bosporus Cruise, a fascinating journey that takes us to both the European and Asian shores of the city. From our view on the water, we take in many of the city’s marvelous monuments and districts, including Maiden Tower, Dolmabahce Palace, Ciragan Palace, Ortakoy, Fethi Ahmet Pasa Mansion, Ortakoy Mosque, Beylerbeyi Palace, Kuleli Military School, Arnavutkoy and Bebek.  In the afternoon, cross over the Bosporus Bridge to Asia and visit Beylerbeyi Palace, which was the summer residence of the Ottoman Sultans. We end our day with a visit to Camlica Hill, one of the highest points of the Bosporus and Istanbul. Camlica Hilll offers a wonderful panorama, including the Sea of Marmara, the Bosporus, and the historical peninsula and islands. (B)

Day 04: Depart Istanbul

After a fascinating exploration of this world-class city, we are transferred to the airport for our departure flight. Check out time is by 1100 hrs. (B)
